How to draw money out of an opponent?

i am talking here in a strictly heads up context as thats all I play online. For example an A, K and Q have been dealt on the flop (not suited) and i have in my hand a J and 10.

It is practically impossible for me to lose this hand, but I find if I raise they fold? Should I check first, pretend I have nothing and hope they raise, but what if they check, should I on the next card raise or check again?

Thanks
Andy

Heads up it is hard to get any value of a hand when the flop is big like that. Does not matter if/when you flop the nuts and the other person gets nothing you will not get paid.

Your best bet is to check/call all the way through the river and hope your opponent makes a move. If you check all the way and he does the same, all you win is the blinds which would be the same as if you raised and he folded. You just hope and pray that he will make some sort of move at the river.

The only way to truely get value on this hand is if they hit two pair or have an ace or king. If I saw a flop like that and I do have a A K or Q if am running for the hills or just checking throughout. I have seen people fold on a check because they did not want anything to do with the hand.

If you play consistantly the same way with good hands as with bad ones, you should be able to get more money from a hand like this. If you raise the same amount after most flops, then your opponent wont know when you have the nuts. But if you try to raise only when you have a monster hand on the flop, he will run away unless he hit something huge also. Try playing consistantly and you will get paid off on hand like this.

A hand like that would cause me to bet just the minimun. If your opponent has paired any of those cards out they will most likely follow suit till the end then I would make a nice size final raise knowing i have the hand and waiting for my opponent to take the bait. If he has nothing under it doesn't matter, you are just going to get the blinds only anyway.

I sometimes find that in slow playing a good hand I sometimes allow my opponent to hit cards that eventually beat me such as their full house beating my flush or straight. Is there any point that I should change my tactics if I feel they are hitting cards that could beat me, or would this show them that my hand isn't too strong? Any help would be appreciated
