| How do you paly the maniac at MTT Last night I played a $10+1 MTT at Bodog. The villian claimed early on that he registered for the tourney then couldnt un-register when he got a call and had to leave. He played probably 70% of his hands and pushed hard preflop on half of those. Although surprisingly he genearally showed strong hands after going allin and everyone folding to him. Finally he pushed allin preflop with Q8 offsuit and got busted down to maybe 100 chips against AK suited. He then put it on auto fold and left. He never made the first hour break. Do you loosen your hand selection even though he has showed strong hands or do you keep the same TAG approach? |

But you said it yourself, keep the same TAG approach, but play your hands differently. If you pickup aces, raise weakly, or limp to him. When he raises, call and let him unload half his stack on the flop, and then shove in & trap him. Start with really solid hands preflop, be willing to get all in preflop, and lower your standards to stack off a bit on the flop. |
