How to adjust from Tournament play to cash games?

As some of you know I play quite a few MTTs a week and somethimes do fairly well in them.
My biggest problem is transitioning from the MTT back to the cash games. I can't seem to make a profit at the ring games. I play in a MTT and place high enough to make a profit but I go over to the ring games and lose that profit. I'm really about to pull my hair out here.

The games I have been playing have been Holdem and Omaha h/l. I play micro/low limits tables. I usually try to get on tables that have 5 to 7 players if at all possible. If they are too short handed the blinds eat me up before I can play a good hand. Full tables, there are just too many players to try to conquer. I play limit sometimes, but that can be a bit frustrating with all the calling stations. I also play NL and PL. I try not to bounce around from different games but sometimes that is in my realm because right now I am trying to clear my bonus over at JS. They have the tables but sometimes during the day they don't have the players on.

Any suggestions for me how to make this switch from MTT back to the cash game and make a profit doing it?

I also have this problem Dessertlady. What you must do is become a little more aggressive and see a few more pots(especially in the short handed tables). This is only if you are not going to play for lots of hours in one sitting. If you want to grind it out then you should still be pretty tight like tournament strategy but play selectively aggressive. These are the changes I have made and I find they are working out for me.

There's a huge difference between how you play in cash games and tournaments. And you may be loosing in the cash games because you don't change your playing style enough to play cash games, before you play the next tournament. So usually when you sit down at a cash table, you will be playing like you were playing a tournament. If you want to be succesfull at both I would recommend only playing tournaments one week, and then only play cash games the next week. That way you quickly get in to the right pace for the cash games, and you get to keep it for a while untill you change back to playing tournaments. If you constantly change between tournaments and cash games, you will need some time to adjust every time you sit down, and that will cost you money.

I have the exact same probelm.

One thing that I have to do is walk away from the tables for the night after I profit in a MTT. I hit plenty of hot cards to get through the tournament and place, and eventually I am going to hit a run of cold cards. If I hit a run of cold cards then my top pair automatically looks like gold, and I try to force my game rather than letting the game come to me.

If you feel a need to continue playing after hitting in an MTT, take half of your profits to the SnG's. You've already had good fortune in tourneys for the day, maybe you can continue your hot streak in a SnG. If you don't place in the SnG's, at least you are controlling your BR swing, and you are not losing any more than half of you profit.

For me, it is not a matter of not changing my style of play to adapt to the type of game. I also play at the micro tables, and they are nothing more than calling stations. Micro tables require more luck than skill, and you will get called on everything. You have to play very tight and only bet on hands such as straights and flushes, because it seems like they hit on every hand.

Osmann, my biggest problem of playing MTT one week and then cash games the next is I really need to clear this stupid bonus. I know if I don't mentally switch it isn't going to matter because I will have lost it at the tables anyway. Plus I get bored(Hmmm probably where my son gets it)
