How to adjust to higher limits

So we've finally grinded out enough money down at micro. It's finally time move up to the next level - to not only increase our earning ability but to be better players as well.

The question is, how do we adjust at the new limits?

I play a bit of limit holdem and I've been making a steady profit at .25/.50 and finally have the bankroll to play at .50/1. So I thought yay next level. I got thrashed in the first few sessions. (I could feel I was getting outplayed - not a nice feeling...)

Is there anything that can be done? Besides wading through poker tracker stats and trying to glue little pieces of self-esteem back together (lol)?
