Horse and Razz tournaments

Anyone knows a site with a great strategy to win horse tournaments? I'm searching about it and about razz strategy, but I just found basic strategies.
How you guys play these tournaments?

i would suggest getting a lot of practice at first by playing to gain experience and knowledge of the game... don't jump right into buy in trouanemtns because theres a lot of strategy in horse.. not as much in razz.. but horse has a lot to it..

Here's a pretty good article about razz tournament strategies: Poker strategy | Variants | Poker | Inside Edge UK

written by Huck Seed

with regards to horse tournament strategy.. here's a good article written by Andly Bloch from Full tilt.. Online Poker at Full Tilt Poker - Andy Bloch Pro Tips: Pro Tip 113

hope this helps..

The only thing that I would suggest about playing HORSE is that you have to be very patient and have the ability to let go of certain hands. I would be very tight in all the stud games especially. A lot of people just call call call in these games so be careful of your starting hands in these games, and don't keep betting if your getting called unless you want to be called all the way because you will. good luck at this game it is not an easy game to do well unless you are willing to learn patience.

I definately think the key to winning HORSE and RAZZ games is playing very tight and having the top starting hands for each game right by your side. Let everyone donk their chips to you.

first of all - your Stud knowledge must by great, because in H.O.R.S.E. are three Stud games ...
secondly - play solid tight game, build the pot with draws, two pairs, sets ...
3. - learn, learn, learn ...
4. - patience, patience, patience ...
5. - DONT BE a DONK ...
good luck ...

It's very good that you have started studying razz strategy, because this is where you will double and triple up in the early rounds.

My basic strategy in these large tournaments is to play only very premium hands in the first round of hold'em and omaha, as you can't see any of what your opponent has and the chances that they will have random rags is relatively high.

Once you get to razz you should play any hand with three cards 8 or lower. Also play hands where all of your hole cards are lower than any up cards of your live (not sitting out) opponents. Much of the time people will call you with a queen showing. I've been in a situation where I was raised with someone holding A2KJ, where I had A379. Much of the time you will be a huge favorite to win in these situations, and remember not to get too attached to that A23 when a king comes on 4th street

As far as the other games go, play the low aggressively in early Stud H/L rounds, as you can win half of pots with 5 players in them and still make big money. Often you will even make a straight and take down the whole pot. I generally stay out of Stud, but that's never been my best game anyway so if you are good at it then by all means go ahead.

After the first round, Texas Hold'em and Omaha are pretty straightforward, loosen up as the table allows but save your big moves for the games where you have some idea of what your opponent holds. It's a lot harder to steal blinds in Limit hold'em games (obviously) so stick to good or premium hands unless the table is playing supertight close to the bubble.

Anyway, that's my strategy for HORSE, I pretty much make the top 5% every time because the field is so fishy; with some practice anybody could do the same. I'm a strong supporter of razz because you pretty much know where you stand even against complete unknowns, so my opinion is based towards the stud games. It seems to work for me though, good luck in your donkaments

I can't believe, this week I study in the internet about Stud and read the book Skalansky on Razz I've bought. Yesterday I've register in a horse tournament freeroll with 193 players and I got first place! I play holdem and omaha with premium hands and studs very tight, my stack grow and I had good chances to bluff because of my table image. In this game I fold even AA because the flop wasn't good for me.

Impoving my game at HORSE is something I try to build on because I enjoy all of the games and play all 3 stud games in cash. I finished 2/440 in a freeroll the other day which was a great confidence boost even though the standard was poor. lookout and play freerolls if you can.
