Hold'em. Is it really just one game?

The answer is no. Take for instance structured 4/8. If the blinds are 1/1 then you have players sitting around waiting on big hands. This can be bad if the whole table is waiting. But if the blinds are 2/4 now this makes for a different story. The blinds are to big, the rake, the tip. etc. A person doesn't have the same options compared to a 1/1 blind game. Then there is the 1 to 4 with 1 to 8 on the end. I really hate this game because the end bet is a bonus for the suckouts.
Let us examine 10/20. In my 30 years or so of living in vegas, this has just about always been a very dead game. Not much action at all. The pots never seem to have any "meat" to it. But just one step up 20/40 now this seems to be a powerplay game. A lot of people seem to always want to try and plow there way through the hand with A-any. 15/30 is not played in many spots.
These are just a few examples. I am up here in reno now and the cal-neva spreads 1-4 with 1-6 on the turn and river. But guess what? The blind is only $1. Now you talk about a dead game.
I play omaha 8/better. This is my game of choice. 5-6-7 people seeing the pot. I just wish there were 10 of us in for the flop. My motto is the more the merrier.
