| I would have raised in late position with A10s to kick those blinds out. On the flop there is probably only 1 potential draw I'd consider (89 limper)... probably a smaller re-raise to 250 or so to try to maximize potential for weak ace calling. However, I like your play better. This is a pot that is about 30% of your pre-hand chip stack. Better to take it down now -- it's a good size and you don't have to worry about something like a smaller pair turning a set, etc. |

| I suppose your question about how to get the most out of it refers to after the flop. Doing some quick math it appears that you played this correctly. After the flop 1 player raised 90, 1 called and 2 folded, so when action came to you there was 360 in the pot, 1 player left to act. Your raise brought the pot up to 720, so even if the button folds its 270 to call for the other 2, so they are being offered odds of 2.6 to 1. I think your raise is fine, hard to think that they would both fold with an A on the board since 1 bet out 90 and other called the 90. The 2.6 to 1 odds that your raise was offering is good for anyone holding AJ or better, so I think you played it just fine. Anyway, as was said here its OK that you took it down right there since it was early in the tourney. It was, after all, a 360 pot with blinds at 15/30 so that's not bad. |
