hello im a wanna be player.i do good in most areas of my game but for some reasons i am having trouble in closing the deal when it comes to mtt.i go deep and then it seems that after 2nd break i fall apart.what should i do to improve this.any suggestions welcome.

i guess it would depend where you are as far as your chip stack is concerned, this is where i usually go out also when i am shortstaked because the blinds start to eat at you and sooner rather then later you have to come to a decision to throw your chips in before your too far behind the rest of the pack.

Then on the other hand i cruise when i have a big stack knocking people out right and left, so it's a bit of a jam for me to i guess so don't worry your not alone , my suggestion would be to just try and continue playing your best poker, there's no point in doing a major deviation from the game you play if it got you this far into the Tourney.

One thing you can do is look at how your playing compared to when you started are you looser/tighter? if things seemed to have changed see what you can do to get you into the mindset that you were at the start of the Tourney, I'm not that well "seasoned" as other posters here :P but that's my advice that i wish i would take .

The biggest mistake I make is I start to play tight towards the end, so even if I have a good stack the blinds eventually eat it away. The times I did good I played alot looser at the end being more agressive. Basically play tighter in the beginning, play a little looser in the end. Don't turn into a maniac theres some skill involved

Perhaps you focus too much on surviving in the early stages of the tournament. If you always go deep that sounds like you´re not taking any significant risks in the beginning. And no risk -> no reward, and the reward - a big stack - is what you need to be able to steal your share of the blinds and keep up with the average stacks as people bust out.

I always had this problem, still do to a certain extent, i think the key change in my play which helped the most was restealing, this is especially true in the later parts of a mtt, for an example say average stack is 40000, bb2000, and you are in big blind, with 48000, and a 54000 stack who you have seen doing many positional steals (1-2 an orbit) raises 3*bb from the hijack, just shove allin with any two cards, more often than not they will fold, as they dont want to tangle with another above average stack. Don't do this to any stacks which are about below average, as most of these should be pushing allin preflop, so the standard raise by them signifies strength and will be called.
choose the people who you are going to steal off wisely as well, usually average stacks are the best, and don't be scared of pushing all your chips in preflop straight away, do this a couple of times on a steal, and then tighten up and then do the same when you get a big hand, never do a standard raise with a big hand after being seen pushing allin preflop, as it will look stronger and won't get the action you want, which can also be used a bluff, ie. do a standard raise after a few pushes with ATC.
These are just a couple of the things which have helped my game, and a few nice suckouts when the resteals have gone wrong always help.
