Help with 6-max at 10nl?

I have played full ring since I started playing poker. Thought I would give 6-max a go for a change. I completely got ate alive and had my biggest downswing ever. Any tips? I already play Loose (20 vpip) at full ring, but I'm used to playing vs tight players. Everyone was betting with really wide ranges and were very aggressive.

Anyone give me tips / advice? and which is more profitable and easier between FR and 6-max?

I honestly don't see how the two are that much different. You're probably just over-adjusting.

i was just wondering that. Is FR really that much more passive than 6max? I only play 6max and it doesn't seem that crazy...

When i first started playing 6max years ago,after playing FR all my life i was blew away by it at first.Just like the op said to me the speed of the game and agg was way more than i was used to.Now i see no difference but back then i did.

Obviously ranges widen in 6-max. There is no EP. I might try to steal from MP in a FR. Well, that is UTG in 6-max. What do you do when people are more loose and aggressive? You'll be willing to call with less. It is just the essence of the game. The less people there is the better hands become. Heck, if you play HU, bottom pair becomes a monster.

6-max requires a fair bit of adjustments for primarily FR players. The swings are also wilder, so are the winnings. 6max can be more profitable than FR with good table selection. Being able to sit on the direct left of a big fish and watch the dough roll in.
One piece of advice: Never open limp in 6-max

Cazique's advice was really good. Try to chose a table/seat that has looser/weak players to your right and the tighter players to your left. This gives you position when you are raising fish preflop bets/limps, although with really loose players 40+ VPIP you can reraise them OOP and still take down pots easily. Below is an example of beating on weak LAGs from a few hours ago (although you should stick with this type of hand while in position).

The range you should stick with are your usual pocket pairs, broadway, and suited connectors. With this range and you in position it becomes a murder on the limping LAGs when you raise them preflop. Also pay attention to their fold to cbet percent. If you're up against a LAG (or anyone) that never folds, don't bother to try bluffing or cebtting with total air, you'll lose money fast.

And finally, when playing against regs, keep the pot small unless you have a monster hand.
