Heads-Up vs multi-player games
I'm looking for some advice. It seems that my game is getting consistantly better, but I still have a LONG way to go. My heads-up record is 7-1 so far, but I keep blowing my profits in either MTT's where I usually finish on the bubble, or in cash games where what I thought was a strong hand gets cracked by a monster. My heads-up strategy is to play a rather tight but extremely aggressive game, making the occasional steal when possible. I try to play a but more conservatively in tournament play, and still seem to have problems. Without going into a dissertation on the hands i shouldn't have chased and the bad calls i shouldn't have made, I am looking for general ideas. What are the main diffences in heads-up vs MTT strategy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

just like Oz said, MTT and HU have a huge difference between them, this is my biggest problem my friend has. I have seen him win heads up so many times, then in MTT he will get a nice stack and he will start playing hands that he usually play heads up, then he loses. I also think maybe you are not experienced enough. And the biggest thing in MTT is position, stack size and the style. You have to know how to adjust to that, but you know pros dont become pros in one day. Practice, practice and more practice, so gl and eventually you will be requesting a rail for a final table

The biggest differences are in HU if you're the small blind you'll have position, in a full tablle you'll always be out of position if you play from the small blind. And the other big difference is hands go way up in value. Any pair is a huge hand in heads up, but at a full table smaller pairs like 22-66 are considered weaker.
