hands that are just too good

Does anyone else seem to get more nervous about getting a monster hand on the flop(straight flush or four of a kind) than when you're bluffing.

I don't really mind getting beaten by superior play, if the guy calls my bluff and wins fair play to him, but twice recently i've gotten a hand from the gods and known that nobody else had anything.

i feel terrible only small amounts on such hands.
i find myself praying that he'll raise, and feel embarassed at showing my hand if nobody calls
Does anyone have any tips for me?

No I'd rather have four of a kind than bluff.

Hi beatrix, dont show your hand unless you are intending a bluff shortly after i.m.o.It will keep your opponents wondering and could affect their gameplay.

They tell me that betting a monster flop will pay off in the long run no matter the format or level of play.

Dont check

3 words when u flop the nuts... bet , bet , bet... its unexpected and if they all fold u win anyway. I will usually bet 2 times to 4 times the blind, whatever the "normal" bet at the table is, but try to keep the pot odds at an acceptable drawing level ( ie give 4 to 1 so that one can draw at a flush or strt).
