Good hand UTG
hey guys just wanted to know everybodys thoughts on how they play good hands (kq, a10suited, mid pockets etc) in first position in a full 9 player SnG?
ive asked a few people and i've had quite a varied response. personally i try to avoid playing the hannds UTG but its difficult as i hate opening with a limp. cheers, Andy. |

UTG is the only place where I'll min-bet. Normally, I hate the min-bet, but I find it useful for entering the pot first without starting a limp-train. And, it usually doesn't scare away all the action from the blinds.
But, I won't play KQo in that position. I generally need something stronger. |

When I was playing S&Gs I used to play tight UTG when the blinds were low and 9 people were still in the tourney. I would only raise AQ+, 1010+. I would limp 22-99 and fold everything else. As people start to get knocked out you can open up your raising range.
