Good Books for Learning NL Holdem

I'm an experienced limit hold em player, but would like to learn how to play NL. What are the best books to learn how to play NL?

If you really want to learn NL hold'em there's only one book I'd recommend to really teach you the game. Small Stakes NLHE by Ed Miller, Sunny Mehta, and Matt Flynn. It's on sale right now for $65.

This is more expensive than most books you can buy from amazon, but I am not kidding when I tell you this book is worth way more. I bought it for $100 and it was EASILY worth the price.

No other book I've ever read has been this good period.

I've read most of them too btw. I have a pretty extensive poker library, so I have some perspective.

Are you looking to play cash or tournaments? Can't go wrong with Harrington on Holdem for tournaments, all three volumes are solid. I have heard good things about Kill Phil and Kill Everyone, but have not read them myself.

You've peaked my interest, how much better is it than phil gordon's book? Also how 'small' are the stakes?

I'm looking for books on cash games. I have Harrington's books for tournaments, and I agree they are excellent. I also have the Kill Phil books.

I read both of the books and i can say that is not one better than the other. Both books are great ... they are covering all the aspects of the game but i think Ed Millers is going too deep for me to keep track as a begginer. I am not a theory fan so if i have to choose i'll chose without a doubt Phill Gordons book cose for now without too much experience i cannot remember all the aspects that Ed Miller discuses in his book. And i do not know if i can say this here. There are ways to reed both books without money and make yourself a library of books and videos. For begginers i'll reccomend videos ... any kind... cash tables, tournament tables, sit and go tables . They do not have to be of Phil Iveys, Gordon, Helmuth or Howards . There are videos of internet players that made a living from poker winnig more or less ... and i think most of us will be happy to win 2-3k dollars a mounth sitting in a chair 4-5 hours a day. And also a video with explanations is much more enjoyable than reeding a book.

My recommendation would be Sklansky & Miller: NLHE - Theory & Practice.

This books covers the basics as well as some advanced strategies. What I like most is, that it makes you think about plays and situation more than giving general advice how to handle them. This is why I think it helps a lot to develop your game.
