Fulltilt Aussie Millions Rd 3.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this tourney that I won entry to, only has nine people in it, and top two spots get the 18k package. This is probably my biggest tourney ever prise-wise, any advice? I think this is a very winnable situation, but I feel my game lags at the final table, which is where this one would start. HELP!

What's the date on the upcoming tournament? Could be a much larger field by then.

Every round two tournament adds another 9 people, I think. There are LOTS of round twos yet to be played, but congratulations on making it to round 3!

Actually the reason I say this is: the rd 3 that I'm reg'd for takes place sept 23, 16:30. The next satellite to that tourney doesn't even start until sept 22 16:30 so it looks like there will be 18? I mean unless they squeeze one in between 11/22 and 11/23. So with that said, tell me about your experiences in the situation. What do I need to know about how to play these guys.

Ohh correction: There's a 1000+60 thursday qualifier, and a 69+6 satellite to that tourney. I wonder how many will reg' total?

Well, then it seems that there will be only 18 in your round three, as you say. I would say practice by playing 18 seat sit-n-go tournaments. There are 18 seat play money tournaments if you have no bankroll. Simple suggestions would not do. Read, practice, read, practice some more is all that I could say. $18,000 on the line, so worth buying some good books.

Advice. Read all of these

Poker
Articles

Then use the search button and search for things like 'final table', or aggression.

The 18 player sng's are a good idea, get into the biggest buyin you can do, real or play.

At the start of the 18 players, you might want to stay calm, fold and watch the other players. Steal when you can, exaggerate you holdings a bit. Everyone who got there is at bare minimum fairly good. So don't establish a wrong table image right off the bat. Tag might be better than Lag at first, but something in between might be best. This of course is not set in concrete. Get reads on the other players, don't get confrontational. Stay out of trouble with marginal holdings.

You got thru 2 rounds, so you know all of this. The final table will require more bravado. Cards help.

If you were to only play against 18 (which it probably won't) but if it was And you had some time I would see how the other players played by putting them in your find a player list under the request tab and the search them out and take notes on how they play for game time. But like I said there will probably be alot more than 18, cross your fingers and hope you're right. (the farthest I've got was 8th in the first round)
Good luck, xxxdirtydogxxx

Here's my advice:

DON'T make any big changes to your game.

You've obviously performed well to get this far. The best preparation you can do is to get sleep, eat well, exercise before the tournament, and trust your instincts.

I would avoid confusing and/or stressing yourself out with last minute overcorrections to your play.

Good luck.

I just won entry into round 2. I hope to be one of the 9 to join you in round 3.

By the way there are 10 entered now so there are other ways to get in the tourney. I expect those buying their way in won't until that day.

I don't Play on Full Tilt, but what these guys suggest is really sound.
If you get any opportunity to catch the other qualifying rounds.
Observe the Tables when they are down to the Final 2 tables.
And take notes.
Then once you see the ranges of the Qualifiers and betting habits,
and Style. Labels (Fish, Rock, Shark, LAG, TAG)
Sharkscope them if you can,
Official Poker Ranking them also.

Freeplay 18-27-45 player S&G's at the highest level of Buy-In..
is wise..!!
Also any Heads-Up matches you can would be pertinent.

I am not certain but more than likely there will be more than
18 Qualifiers. My Guess would be more like 80-150 entries.
But it never hurts to get as many notes as possible.
Strengths and weaknesses are all exploitable.
Read some of the Articles in the Tabs at the top of the Forums.
(Beside the Forums Tab)
Read, and Read some more. But stick with the formula that got you there, trust your instincts, ..and "Use The FORCE.."

~And Best of Luck~

Ohh yes I was so wrong indeed....248 registered now, and probably much more on the way... Ohh I feel kinda naive for thinking that there might only be 18 (I was sure:[). w/e - study practice, study, practice, and then repeat. Thanx again -

I see you didn't place in the top two, but not in the bottom two, either. I wish I had remembered when the time was before it was over so I could have railed.

I watched it last week, the Thursday qualifier, and it was only 38 people.

Top 2 got their prize, one of them was Steve Zolotow.

Ohh man I played the worst poker of my life that Sunday, and rightly so.
The Saturday night before the tourney, me and this new chick do dinner, club, afterhours, her place . We were drinking like fish as well as other things . Come about 1:30 sun afternoon I roll outa her bed with a headache comparable to many explosions in my head occuring every heartbeat. I was like "F*ck... I gotta play poker today and I do not want to leave this bed" (she was super). But I do. So I go to my dads house and b.s. with him for a minute. He urges me to drink a beer or two because it always relieves his hangovers. So at about 2:30 start drinking all over again . So about 3:30 the neighbor comes over and we tell her of the "situation" the hangover and big tourney and she says shell be right back with a pick me up...She brings me this...something(?). And it sure picks me up but I have no aggression at all and I feel all nice and floaty, It totally took away my hangover and I felt good, and serious about the tourney, like I could compete, but Looking back at the hand histories, I knew it was far from my best game.

So-

Lesson: Leave the super-hot-Russian girls at home and go out AFTER you win...Ohh yeah and never go to your Dads house again!

lol - It was unfortunately, and $18k learning experience. But at least I learned my lesson. See you at the tables!

Well Ceaser, look at the bright side. You can qualify for it all over again this week!

Congrats on a really great experience (the girl, not the tournament).
