Full Tilt Freerolls

How hard would you say the hourly full tilt freerolls are?

Whenever someone refers to the Fergusson Challenge, people often say save yourself a few weeks/months and just deposit five dollars... However, I never seem to have trouble cashing in the full tilt freerolls, and have cashed several times (typically a few times a week when i've had time), as well as took first in one of them, and I have only been playing on full tilt for about a month and a half. (i played on pokerstars before - i never had trouble cashing in their freerolls either, I just ran out of patience for spending 4 hours for a ticket and another 4 for the round 2)

So what do you all think of the Full tilt freerolls? Am i a good player for being able to cash in the freerolls, or are they a completely unrealisitc gage for skill?

Well, I would say the key to these freerolls are being patient. Although it is not easy to cash in full tilt freerolls, it is generally easier then a site like pokerstars. In fact, I once played in a tournament where I built up a first place chip stack by getting lucky in the first ten minutes, and then had to leave, so I eventually folded all remaining hands. By the time the tourney had ended, I had come in 26th place out of around 250, giving me about $0.15. Overall, I would say it is not that hard to cash, especially if you are playing in the private freerolls.

I dont think the free rolls are that hard. I just get annoyed because you always have the players that dont take them serious and bet every hand or play horrible hands and some how end up winning. I've cashed in in a few free rolls though and I believe myself to be a fairly decent player.

I've only played Cardschat freerolls at fulltilt because they all say restricted. Is there a way I should sort to find them or what should I be looking for?

I have recently started to play cash game does anyone have any good tourneys they know about?

The only way I know is to select the private tab and check each event.

yeah but everybody gives up the pass and they get full. but now it will change bc of the new rules.

yea i agree wid yu wizardsfan it is pretty much easier and less cumbersome cashing out in the fulltilt freerolls,but the scheduled freerolls that they have once in an hour or so are pretty much a drag,it usually takes close to six hours to reach the final table,though omaha is less time consuming...

these arent too hard...i play them alot and it is about picking your spots early because alot of players go all in early in the tourney with crap.....so pick your spots early and be patient and then when the serious players are left at the end then u can start playing real poker....good luck to ya

i wouldnt say that the freerolls are necessarily challenging but it takes forever for it to finish... 2700 players and a lot of people just go all in all the time for the first hour its just not poker... i mean if cashing and making a dollar and spending 4 hours is worth it to you than go for it.. its not that hard... but in terms of efficiently spending time i would say its definetly not the way to go...

it is a long time for a little bit of money....so i would only say play it to pracitce your game or a new strategy....but even then it is hard because the players in those freerolls make such stupid moves and crazy bets that it is hard to see if your new strategy works or not...it is in a lot of situations a waste of time

Yeah as someone who plays private freerolls on fulltilt all the time, i will say that there are lots of idiots but thats assumed because its a freeroll. But its not incredibly hard to place, you just have to be very patient and wait until all of the idiots are out before you start playing your normal game.

Actually, the idiots add quite a bit of flavor to the game. If you know that a donk at your table is going in on every hand, wouldn't you want to call his actions if you get a good hand such as A A. Even if it were at the very beginning of the tournament, would you go all in with say A K or A Q s? I would but there is always the chance that you might get donked by the other players, any thoughts on this?

I agree with you daguksta. I think all the idiots really help you out. As long as you are patient and playing smart you can do very well in these. I have placed several times in these.

i have been playing the 2700 people freerolls for a few weeks now and i do pretty well but even in the end, i get called with some stupid hand and get outplayed like earlier some kid went all in with like 65k chips with like 150 people left, i had around 40k and had pocket aces so i called. He flips up 10 4 off and makes the stupid straight on the river... So, sometimes people like him do win those freerolls but you just have to time your luck and hope to win.

The $100 freerolls are pretty much about patience and tons of luck at times. I usually play all the ones I can with some luck in cashing in them. I try to stick to the T$ ones or the satellites, the prizes are better for your time i think.

The only problem with the donks is that when you call their 8 5 with your A K, they hit and you don't
I do as said before, wait until all the donks are out and then start playing my 'normal' game

The $100 aren't even worth entering because people are donks for the first hour and the blinds on them take so long by the time ur in the final 100 u played 4 hours. The private freerolls are good because generally 15 to 25% of the players cash and all u have to do is w8 for hte donks to bump out to start playing ur skills.

Full tilt freerolls=Joke for 5 hours you can win 15bucks which i guarentee i snot worth it thats 3 bucks an hour (way below min wage) but perhaps you can built it up i turned 2 bucks in 40

FT FR's rock. But the Furgesson is a rip. The payoff is only 1 TD. There are others worth 11 TD's.

The new one (under the "SERIES" tab) pays off 2500 Full Tilt Points for a win. This means it's much easier to win 4 of these and enter directly into the 10,000 Full Tilt Points final. Rather than trudge through the qualifiers.

Also, extra Full Tilt Points can be used for any 10,000 Full Tilt Points entry. This usually represents a $350.00 tourney. Or smaller if you wish. There's plenty of those as well.

The highest I've ever finished was low 100s. Today I was in the top 400 with a good stack... had A-T against A-7... i hit my ace and he went all in so i called and he hit a seven on the river.

It takes a ton of luck - I always get bad beat. If anyone would like to help me out I'd appreciate it since I'm trying to build up a good bankroll.

Full Tilt freerolls are not the best way to determine skill; there are to many donks there, and they play a lot of junk hands that really would not be realistic, if you were playing in a bigger cash tourney. If you have patiences they you can do really well, and almost always cash in those tourneys.

Yeh, But the Ferguseon one for $1, you only have to get into the top 100. For the $11, you need to get to top 3....

i think the freerolls are kinda hard, but you do have to be patient and play the right cards, that way you hang in there longer than those who play crappy hands

Ive only cashed on one of those 2 times. If you just wait 10 mins for all the donks to get out, it is much better. The odds in those freerolls are terrible. U haveto get in the top 100%!!! It is very dificult.

Scratch that..top 1% lol

The freerolls at FT are not that tough, the only tough part is sticking with them long enough because it usually takes about 5 hours before there is money to be won. So fighting off boredom and not making stupid calls because of being anxious is the biggest problem with them. On the flipside the turbo freeroll moves to fast to establish anything and basically forces a player to be constantly aggressive.

I personally hate full tilt freerolls. WASTE of time and no real reward.

ive cashed multiple times in freerolls. i dont think they are that bad if you are not willing to deposit and dont mind taking the 4.5 hours to play a good solid trny. but...

i cashed in 7th in a freeroll last night for 4$. lost a dollar in a 1.25 SnG. went to sleep. woke up and been playing. anyways im up to 36$ now from nothing.

so if your trying to get something for nothing then yes. they are worth it.

ill be moving up to 2$ sngs tomorrow and hopefully reach 200 before tomorrow night.

unrealistic in terms of skill and play. freerolls are not good tournaments and dont show a lot of skill. if you can play some of the real money tournaments and plce consistently then its different...

I think the biggest problem is that i see a trend in free rolls in general of the bigger stacks being able to bet with almost any hand and end up hitting on the river to knock out the smaller stacks who were playing quality hands to try to double through the big stacks.

This is just on the topic of free rolls, but in the cardschat free roll on full tilt today there is a guy with a green triangle beside his name. It says that the guy is a loser. (lol). Is that something that was done by cardschat?

If you cannot deposit any money than the only option are the freerolls - Unfortunately the 2700 people is just too much for me ... it takes too long and you lose AA to 10 4 as written above somewhere...
Can't wait for the CC freeroll today - Hope to get some money in order to be able to play in the larger SNG

waste of time. weaving through this field of 2700 donks for 5 bucks. I would rather save the money and deposit.

Normaly I think its a waste of time, cause of all the donks especially in the first hour .
However i'm glad that there are these freerolls at FT where you can win some cash even if your BR is zero.
There are other sites where you don't have this oppertunity e.g. Everest, where you have to have at least some summit pionts to enter.
(Sorry for my bad English)
