Fold or Raise vs Calling
Hi All...I'm new here & fairly new to poker. Advice I keep seeing is to fold or raise to any raise instead of calling. What happens if the other guy is using this same strategy? does it just become an all-in fest when really I just wanted to see the flop??? Thanks

It really depends on the game your playing to the strategy you use. In no limit cash games its a stupid stupid strategy as you want to see a lot of cheap flops! Or if your drawing you want to call when you have odds etc...
However towards the end of a tournament where blinds are high in relation to chips, if you call a high blind its likely someone else may raise.. thus its not profitable to call... and you should be either raising them out the pot with any 2 cards, or simply folding! It really depends on the situation.. |
