| What have you been playing so far? Have you studied one or the other at all? NL can be a little swingy-er then FL and there will most likely be weaker opponents at NL. I'd recommend sticking with what you've been playing before and if you haven't played much of either and spend a little time playing one then the other and see which you prefer. There isn't really a "better" game to play it's mostly just which you like to play more. |

| At the moment you have to stick to your best game, if you believe no limit is then definitely play that, hopefully when you have a larger bankroll you can try to get good at other forms, but for now you really should stick to your best game, and even stick to your best game (cash, sngs or mtts) although i would not recommend mtts with a small bankroll, if that is what you are best at that is probably what you say. if you loose your roll from the freeroll win dont feel to disheartened, because often enough that is variance.. if you win or lose you should still review your sessions. |

| re: FL or NL to start poker Play the one you intend to keep playing. If you're thinking of playing limit with the intention of moving over to no limit later on, don't bother - just go straight to no limit. The games are different enough that you'll have to do a bunch of learning and re-learning when you change from one to the other so you may as well just start in the one you mean to continue playing and focus all your time and energy on it. |

Start at the game you're best at, and that you enjoy the most. Then stick with one. Fixed Limit requires a little more aggression & a more mathematical brain. No-limit requires that you read hands a little better and requires that you are able to give up. Also, No Limit probably has a higher ceiling. No limit games even up to 1-2 still have fish in them, but the equivalent stakes of fixed limit are pretty much reg-fests. |
