Early tourny play

I really start off playing any range of hands,
pushing and pushing hard making people doubt their hands,
I am trying to double up right away, after my first double up,
I tighten my range of hands down to a-x suited, or any pp if its less than 3xbb to see the flop, hoping to spike a set and push, maybe at this point someone is mad i have been pushing way to much and will call, with top pair, or something like that..

Yeah I'm with the second guy, I try avoiding big pots unless I have hands, and tend to look for spots to play a big pot with a big hand. Small pairs I'll limp and if I don't flop a set most of the time I avoid paying for a showdown.

Agreed, I dont get involved in too many hands early on unless I have something and tend not to bluff either as you dont normally have a large stack to absorb damage if you get caught out.

I switch it up a gear once i've made some chips, I will normally only play big hands but mix it up a little with connectors and when im the blind trying to steal a few small pots.
