But strategy in poker has always been changing and that is why you keep learning the game as it changes from time to time and you have to adapt.

That is why its know as the game "That takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master"

True, and to that i say any tracking software will mess you up in the long run, i just found out i am on 2 tracking sites lets see how long it takes for them to pick up my new strategy and when it gets up dated to show how i play i will change how i play again
I think i need to keep all of you on your toes you picked up on it to quick

re: Do you think the game will change? poker

Everyone has this idea in their mind that their is some great strategy to texas hold em. Like only play the top 20 starting hands, play tight aggresive you will mop up if you do...so on and so forth. Some say luck is not really a factor in hold em some say it is. Their is no black and white way to play poker or way to win. AKo against a 2-7s preflop its anybodys game, of course me personally i will take the ace king over the 2-7 but my point is the 2-7 will win 35-40% of the time. So you can depend on your strategies all you want but the fact is you never know what is gonna hit the felt all you can do is speculate. Reading abilities now thats whats important strategy is easy its reading people that you need to get good at because then the cards don't even matter.

I don't think I have ever heard of a tracking site. What is it?

Someone has to fill me in on the "signs and tells" on online poker. Is it the change in emotions on the avatar? Too funny.

If you don't have a varied mix in the way you play it would seem to me the game would get pretty boring. Nothing better than playing a hand different than your opponent expects and then showing him the winning hand with a grin! Now that's fun.

I'm not sure what you're asking Bu there are several different 'strategies' used in not only on-line poker, but live as well----there's the 'conservitive approach'--'LAG' (lose/aggresive) approach---'TAG' (tight aggresive) approach---'Nitty' (super tight--where only the absolute highest cards are played) and a whole bunch of ways to use each of them! Some people play 'Position' only---there's ALOT of different strategies--and I don't think ANY of them will "CHANGE" any time soon! PLUS, people mix 'em all up onna regular basis---the BEST players will gennerally use what they think is the opposite of what the table is showing--and then CHANGE that up. Ya never know what 'strategy' they're using!

For instance, many years ago if someone slowed played AA, that was unheard of and no one really knew that they were doing it.

i think that the game will definitely continue to change strategy-wise particularly due to the advent of internet poker. that really gave rise to lag players when previously everyone played standard a-b-c poker and made it hard for these traditional players to cope. but now people have strategies against lag players (eg. reraising continuation bets, slowplaying monsters etc.) and the internet will only give rise to many different sorts of players with different styles which will lead people to develop new and more intricate strategies to deal with them

It is changing already

Havent played for that many years yet, but I truly believe that "the average level" is increasing month by month, and people are a lot better of playing poker than just for two years ago.

You can still meet the donks, but I think people are taking poker more seriously now than they did just a few years back.

Ths forces us moderate players to even work harder to be able to keep winning instead of losing

Some people think so, also i have heard that people think after a few years OMAHA will be the main poker game played because of all the hands and drawing scenerios make it more intresting.

I think the game play may evolve over time, but the cards and players reactions will always tell you how to play. Online you do not have that personel connection to see their reactions. You have pay more attention to betting patterns and cards ranges your opponants play. To better understand what strategy to use against them. What their chips stacks are in relation to the blinds. Is it tournament or a ring game you are in. Even with all that you still have get the right cards at the right times and have some luck to get through the cold deckthat rears up itsd ugly head at times.
