Do I need to loosen up

Played in an $11 + $1 tourney last night on PS.

Over 600+ entrants. Money paid down to 65th

Finished 27th and had a look at my stats

Hands dealt 218, played 37 (17%)

Played very TAG, normal for me, but wondering if I should play more marginal hands, eg K9 etc etc??????

post some HH of hands you think you should've played. if you dont keep & look over HH after a tourney that you placed deep in, then your primary concern shouldnt be the % of hands you played in the tourney but why you are throwing money away by being so careless in your home business of poker .

if you are playing it for fun then dont bother with hh. but revisiting troubling hands in study mode is as important as playing them.

re: Do I need to loosen up

Your question is completely situational...if you've been sitting at a very LAG table, that's perfectly acceptable.

Like joose said, post some HHs where you think you might have benefited from playing a little looser and of course you'll get opinions from all the HA rats.

As Chuck said, it's situational.

You don't necessarily want to look at it from a 'should I play more types of hands' perspective, but more like 'i should, where possible, identify favourable situations (either in general or in a specific hand), and loosen/tighten up accordingly'.

Stats like "I played x% of my hands in an MTT" are invariably meaningless.
