Hello guys,
This is my first post here. I want to thank you all first for your suggestions. I have been reading the posts here for some time and have learned a great deal from all the info. I lost my stack with AA to JTs. I am not pissed or mad about it, but just wanted to seek advise if I could have played it better. Most people at the table have around $25 at .10/.25 game at Full Tilt. I am in MP+2. Villain is CO. Everyone limps in before me. I raise to $4 to take down the pot here or go Heads up with someone with serious cards. CO calls my raise. The flop comes 24J. The pot is about $10. Villain has been playing LAG with 48/24..I bet $5, villain reraised to $10. I am dead against 22, 44, JJ. But I was very confident that villain had AJ, QJ, or JT..I called (should I have reraised all in here?) Turn is 8..I go all in for my last $10. He calls and shows JTs. The river is T and I lose $25. Would you guys have played it any different? Looking back I should have gone all in on the flop, but that wouldn't have helped my hand. Any suggestions? And thanks again guys for all the great input. |

Why did you shove the turn? Letting him see a turn card isn't going to allow him to stack off with a weaker hand more often. He raised you on the flop, and committed himself. So you should have put him in right there. And bet more on the flop. At least 7$ into 10.
The river was just a cooler. Get used to it, they happen all the time. |

You got the money in with the best hand and very good EV, nothing wrong with that. Good raise preflop, taking away set value on flop even if villian had pocket pair. I wouldn't have played it much differently, btw did you check the villians stats to see if he is a calling station ?

I would think it played right. You had the best hand, before the flop, and got 1 caller. then the flop hit fairly low, and the best thing that could happen, did happen- he paired his Jack. He looked pretty commited to that and went all in, in which you made the call. Just you got caught in the varience. Bummer.... When you put all your chips at risk, they can be taken from you, no matter what you have. And pocket Aces usually wins small pots and lose to big ones..-harrington
