Did I make a mistake here

I would like to preface that after thinking this over I believe I should've waited. However, I would really like to get some thoughts on this.

The situation is as follows: I'm in an Omaha PL MTT and we're down to the final 13 players. The top 8 pays out. I'm in the middle of the field as far as chips.

I apologize for not having the hand history but here it goes. I"m holding 8 9 10 J and 2 other players call into the flop. The flop comes 4 7 10 rainbow. The first player (who is also in the middle of the pack in chips) bets pot, the second player (currently #2 in chips) raises the pot to pretty much put me all in if I call. I really put a lot of thought into the decision and decided that 12 outs were enough to give it a shot. If I was successful I would've been in 2nd position in chips. Unfortunately for me, I didn't hit my wrap around straight and was knocked out. The player made the initial bet had trip 10's and the big stack who reraised had 8/9 in his hand and failed to hit his up and down straight draw.

IF you were in my spot, do you lay down your huge rap around straight draw and wait for a made hand before you commit all of your chips? In hindsight, I think I should've but I'm always concerned with becoming too tight when I'm close to the money. Thoughts are appreciated

4 sixes, 3 eights, 3 nines, 3 jacks = 13 outs, not 12? i.e. 49.9% to hit, but a possibility you could split the pot or be beaten by a full house. Depends if you want to put your tourney on the line for a coinflip. With a raise + re-raise in front of me I'd be inclined to give this one a miss.

I say go for the gusto and call here. Considering how big the pot is, I'm sure you had odds to draw to your hand, and although this is right before the money, I think that your call was the right move.

As they say, you have to play for 1st if you want the real money.

Thanks Bomb...now I really know why I went for it. I forgot about the 6's in my original post. That's what happens when you post something when you're still a little steamed about it!!

Ye im agree with chuck u have to call men! What do u want more in this flop!!!If u play with 8910J,isnt it to see that kind of flop.U have flop the draw max thats why they (he) put you allin cause they just fear that kind of hand. And i understand dem, that was a big floppy straight draw. They played right and u too i think. You just not find ur cards and he did(they did).About the re raise, he just wanna make u fold ur hand,if he has not a big stack he wouldnt have raise only with 89,i think. And u knew where he was when u call.Nice bet nice call!Nice played all
