| Deep Stack Ante game This is a question for any deep stack and ante game, really any ante game. Is figuring your M more important than knowing how many BB deep you are? I guess what I'm asking is if you are 200BB deep but also have an ante doesn't that change how deep you really are? You're not really 200 deep because you have the ante everytime which effects implied odds, right? Maybe this is something that any decent player out there knows- but I'm basically an aspiring decent player so any thoughts or commentary would be appreciated. |

| IMO, it sort of comes down to just how deep we are talking. If I have an M of 200, the ante really isn't going to affect the M that much or change my decisions based on my M. Whereas if I have an M of 8, the antes are now going to play a MUCH larger role because I am so short. So technically, yes, antes will affect your M (M is just how many orbits you can go before you are busto), but if you're 200 deep, it really just doesn't matter or affect too many decisions being made. | Weill if its a six max game and you buy in 200bb deep your M is like 76, which I know is huge, if you buy in at 100bb then its around 35ish. So given that we're playing that deep how should that impact the game, The available stacks are pretty big and the pots are juiced. So it seems like lower expressed odds higher implied odds hands would enter your range. What is tight play when your that deep? Is 19/17 too tight? how loose is wrong and aren't your preflop mistakes less grievous as a result of whats in the pot? |

| I look at it in terms of bb's.. so if the blinds are 100-200 with no ante, it is what it is, 100+200=300 now with a 25 ante at a 6 handed table, 100+200+150 450 in the pot now preflop. so effectively the blinds are now effectively 150/300... so if you have 3k in chips and you think you dont have to shove what you think is 15bb's effectively you only have around 10 bb's. and of course once the ante kicks in as a short stack it becomes much more proftiable to shove... but yes with a stack of 200bb's, it generally doesnt affect you too much.. sure effectively you dont quite have that much, but it really doesnt matter, your still deep... |

| Antes affect the game yes, but just as in your example you stated, you are deep and after their stack....not 125 in antes when the blinds are 150/300 and they've raised 15Xbb. In your example antes play little role in decision making when you are after another deep stack. |
