Dealing with Loose, Lucky Players I think you could describe me as being on super-super tilt at the moment. I've just about had it with these loose, lucky players who play awful cards out of position, and persist in busting you with their crap holdings. I seem to be on the worst run ever at the moment. I'd describe myself as being a solid-agressive player who understands the value of position and which cards to play in which slot at the table. I'm certainly not the best, but I regard myself as a pretty decent player. I've busted out 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the last 6 tourneys I've played. Each time it has been against one of these numpteys, who calls my raise with crap (king-rag, ace-rag, 6-4 off etc etc) and manages to bust be when I have premium hands. How are you used to play against this, I just can't deal with it? I read and study, read and study and practice and it seems that I just can't beat it. They are calling me for all their chips on the flop on 10 high flush draws, calling me with middle pair when I have aces and getting two pair, it's happening all the time. Do I limp more and see more flops and wait until I am really secure before I start putting the pressure on or what? I'm the type of player who calls very rarely. I'm either folding or raising, and I'm folding more often than not. Hopefully I can get some feedback, or at least some solidarity because my confidence is in bits. Thanks, William Martin.

Don't let your confidence subside. You are dong the right thing, playing decent holdings in position. Your just experiencing variance. Take a break and do something else. If you wanna play poker , play something different to what you normaly play, at low stakes just to chill out. If you have correct bankroll management you will be able to cope with this down turn. Just remember if your playing decent poker you wil crush these players in the long run. You actually want these players. If your not sure if your playing correctly post up some hands for us to analyse. GL mate.

re: Dealing with Loose, Lucky Players poker Yes, post some hands. A lot of posts like yours are exposed as equally poor play, where someone does something "crazy" like raising 30% (or otherwise inappropriately large) of their stack preflop, the shoving the rest in as a c-bet, or min-raising preflop and then can't fold an overpair when all the signs indicate they are drawing dead. Not saying you are in this boat, just that it is hard to give you good advice without a specific example.

Don't worry man. It happens to everyone. I usually hav it happen to me for a week every month. Best thing is to try and lose as little as possible. Like playing cheap SnGs. You get a lot of hands and it won't crush a bankroll. Or go watch a movie.
