Which days of the week are best for live play?
I keep hearing how Friday and Saturday nights are the best for playing live in a casino. More drunks and casual players mean more easy money. The thing is - I've been consistently losing or winning only small amounts on those days but raking it in like crazy on Sunday and Monday! F/S I am indeed seeing more casual players but they tend to hold onto their one $100 buyin tightly and won't let it go unless they have the nuts. Sundays, on the other hand, I see a lot more gamblers who hit big on baccarat or roulette over the weekend and have no qualms about betting big on second pair and dropping $500.
Is my sample size of 8 or each day not big enough to draw a real conclusion or am I just not adjusting to the different crowds properly? Anyone else seeing similar things? Maybe the Auckland crowd is just different than in gambling cities like Vegas? |

The best time of the week is pretty much always the time when there's the most pure gamblers who don't have that much poker knowledge at the table. The swings might be big but long term a skilled player should clean up.
Often that's Friday and Saturday nights when everybody's drunk, but if it happens to be Sundays in Auckland then sweet ![]() |

Just got done with another night - 3 nights of big action in a row, ending up all 3. Sunday-Tuesday. Maybe the crowd is simply different here. I'll have to see if it changes when I move on to Sydney in a few weeks, then Melbourne.
