Could somebody explain this Omaha showdown for me?

Right before sd i thought I was going to win with the high and low with Ace high flush and the low cards...So I guess you need to have two of the same suit to have a flush?

It doesn't say it on the HH, but the replay says I won the low, and villian won the high and low. How is that even possible?? And wtf was he doing the whole hand?

1) because you can have to use 2 cards out of your hand

2) because you both use A2

3) I am not sure what you mean about what is he doing, he has the low locked, he made the right play

Only 2 of your hole cards and 3 cards from the table are in play. Basically all you had was an Ace high, and he had deuces. Everyone else probably thought u both had a flush and folded. Btw you both tied for the low.

Don't take this wrong, but what I find amazing was the size of your chip stack without knowing the most basic rules/concepts of the game (1) yes you always need 2 cards from your hand, and 2) (as was already pointed out) the concept of split lows - you got 1/4 of the pot.

MP3 is a total donk, who didn't have squat before the river, except for his pair of 2s. He got very lucky, and maybe you can't argue with success. What he did was get people to fold their 2 pair for fear of the flush. Maybe he knew what he was doing there, maybe not. But if anyone else with a good flush called, suspecting you were on low draws, he'd have quartered the pot right along with you, with his pair of ducks. Someone here folded the winning hi hand. Hard to explain quickly, but the fewer people in the hand, you stand a chance to LOSE money betting on your nut low, ESPECIALLY if it's an A2, which nobody folds. I've even seen people split an A2 lo 3 ways - 1/6 of the pot. But in your case, there was PLENTY of equity in the pot before the river, so he was justified to raise after y'all rivered the low, as were you to call. IMHO

I learned the hard way about the A2 in high/low. In a cash game 25/50c, I invested over $10 in the pot and ended up with a 3 way split for low with a 2,3,4,5 on the board. Ended up losing most of my stack with the nuts low. High hand was 2-6 straight.

hahaha well I've played about 5 or 6 omaha tourneys (all registered on accident...) and never really bothered looking too far into the rules. And I swear each and every time I do extremely well. I got about $12 profit on this one ($3 rebuy). Maybe this is my game?

lol thanks everybody for explaining it, it makes sense now!

Should probably patch up on the rules

Also, make sure you don't accidentally register for games you don't have a 100% mastery on, at least rules wise.

Good luck next time!
