I did it out in my head and thought it would be assuming the last guy was calling. I hit a huge flop so it payed off well but was it the right play?

Well your getting about 7 to 1 on a preflop call so it is generally correct to call there.

Your flop bet is very small though. You should bet at least 700 there imo.
