Confidence In Your Reads
Pretty soft table overall, pretty much the norm for low level SnG's.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $30/$60 6 players Stack sizes: UTG: $2805 UTG+1: $4350 CO: $1775 Button: $425 SB: $1475 Hero: $2670 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with 6 UTG calls, 2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, Hero checks. Flop: 8 SB checks, Hero bets $180, UTG calls, Button calls, SB folds. Turn: A Hero bets $600, UTG raises to $1600, Button folds, Hero raises all-in $2430, UTG calls. River: 5 Results: Final pot: $5640 Hero showed 6h Qh UTG showed Qc 9c The little voice in my head was screaming that he had me beat on the kicker. I disregarded it and pushed anyway. Anyone think they could have folded it? Normally I wouldn't even question the hand, it's just that I went against all my instincts. |

re: Confidence In Your Reads poker
Eh, I think you got unlucky here. I mean, you could fold after the re-raise, but it's hard to let go of triple Q's. The odds he had the other one were pretty low too. I think the biggest error here might be calling with Q6. I mean, sure, you'll win most of the hands you hit, but it can also kill you since you have such a low kicker. At this point, with your stack and such low blinds, I don't think you need to play this hand anyway.

But givin the information I think I would have done the same thing. I would like to know how the UTG had been playing. That would help me determain if I was beat. If you thought you were beat then I would probably trust my read and have let it go. It is although A rather hard laydown to make . |

Getting reads online is difficult but some people notice things that others don't, like my friend for example; He isn't the best poker player on the block by no means but his reads online are for the most part usually impeccable and when he goes with it he is usually right.
I usually don't get reads except for knowing when people seems weak and you can pick up a pot. |

I have Confidence in my reads, thought i think i would of been all-in...
I also try to play cards with a higher kicker, also a raise preflop would of been good. I would of raised it with limper's in the pot... Quote:

re: Confidence In Your Reads poker
I like the aggression on the flop take it down there but after you get a caller you need to slow down. He's probably not re-raising you less than a queen. Considering the kicker does not play you're in a bad spot but because of his position in the hand I would assume he has at least q10, q9 actually was a fairly lose call utg. Either way I would try to get to a showdown as cheap as possible and prevent myself from getting too much of my stack in right here to where I can't fold.
