Coin Flip? To Flip or not to flip.... So that's my question: Mostly pertaining to tourneys... When do you want to get your chips in (maybe all your chips) when you're confident it is a toin coss. Pot odds and all that are the obvious answers but I'm wondering more specifically about position and relative stack size in a tournament and so on. What are your thoughts?

It very much depends on the strategic situation in the tournament. As a rough guide, I will take a coinflip if my stack is less than about 30x BB (so that I am going to be a shorty soon if I don`t improve) and I am below average stack/not currently on course for the FT.

I've learned that flips in tournaments are really not ideal. The more you can keep yourself from being in the AI stage, the better. That said, I agree with the others..in the case that you need to flip, it's always better to be in a dominating chip position so your tournament life isn't on the line.
