Check raising flops in cash games How often do people c/r flops and what is a good time to do so? I cant think of anytime where my standard play is to c/r and wonder if its a big deal. I c/c plently and mix up my turn play but wondering if i should be c/r more?

From Sklansky No limit Hold'em Theory and practice the only standard C/R situation is when you call a preflop raise oop. Other than that there are very few situations where a c/r is better than just betting and they are highly siutational/villian specific. I almost never do it, but then I play at the monkey levels so it isn't really necessary.

If the stacks are really deep 200bb for example, villian is super tight but spews implied odds and doesn't preflop raise properly you might with a pocket pair type hand. |

I think mostly I'm ch-r my monster hands and big draws, and then bluffing in spots where my opponent has a high fold cbet to ch-r % and the board cooperates. It's the main way I balance my cold calling range postflop. Otherwise I'm donking with similar hands (monsters, draws, bluffs). There are plenty of spots to call oop. ex: If your opponent is a lag, you have KJ and his 4bet % is huge. Call, flop a pair, let him barrel. Or, call, miss your pair, c/r bluff or some other bluffy line.

Yep. Lots of people who know how to lag it up pf but only know how to bet/bet/bet postflop not knowing how to deal with resistance. I'll also flat a lot of KQ type hands against tags who don't fold to 3bets too often andplay really well when they call. I agree in general you should stick to more 3bet/folding oop, but there are definitely a lot of spots to flat.

re: Check raising flops in cash games poker I check raise like, flops & stuff. Bluffs, monsters, medium strength TPTK hands against the spewy stations, sometimes for protection. Uh... yeah. I rarely donk into the PFR from OOP. But then again, I'm rarely calling OOP either so.... yeah. Prolly way too vague, but it was kinda a vague question. But I x/r just about every TAG's c-bets once in a while just because they all c-bet too much on boards that obviously miss their range.
