| Sounds like you mean Phil Hellmuth`s classification system, which goes as follows: The Mouse The mouse is a tight and cautious player who seldom bluffs and will usually have the hand he represents. The Jackal Very loose and aggressive. Tries to run over the table. Vulnerable to being trapped. The Elephant Plays a lot of hands and calls rather than raising. A calling station. Hangs around to the river, even with a weak draw. The Lion Tight and aggressive. Solid player. The Eagle Very good player, to be avoided. Circles above the others, observing closely with his keen eyesight. Capable of mixing up his game, deceiving opponents, and "swooping" down to sieze large pots in his talons. |

Hellmuth`s scheme includes only the 5 mentioned, as far as I remember. Any of Hellmuth`s first three could be described as donkey or fish. A tiger is just a cat with delusions of grandeur. |

| re: Categorizing players into "creatures" poker Once I was called "Slinky." After some thought, realized that player was quite observant. I do indeed, on occasion, enter or raise a hand and then fold, to let those with greater number of chips get into it ... a method that eliminates others by using their chips. [ smile] {But, if I hang 'round, be wary.} Last edited by itlegacy : 26th May 2009 at 1:26 PM. |
