I was wondering while you sit at a table if its online or live any stakes...how do you go about on how long you play. Do you play until you double up, give yourself a time set, or just try to run it up as long as you can?

It really depends. If I'm on a massive winning streak I'll leave about an hour after the streak ends, I'm up for the night, and I'm happy with my winnings, lets go socialize with some friends.

If I'm still around the 100bb mark, I'll keep playing till I'm too tired, till I go bust for the night, or till the table closes.

So many people win big and keep playing and then get greedy, and then all of a sudden their winnings become my winnings. I'm %100 okay with this, but I try to avoid this mistake.

Get greedy? I'm not sure what you mean.
Are you suggesting that someone should quit while they are ahead in order to give someone else a chance to win?

no, sorry, I mean, alot of the time I see someone come sit down, win a few big pots, and then get loose and stupid with what cards they play. I try to avoid this mistake. Greedy probably wrong terminology. Big headed?

And I do not think greed has a place in poker if you wish to be successful.

Big headed. Yep, that's a good way to describe it. People do get stupid with a big stack. They don't seem to mind losing the $100 they won as much as the $100 they came with.

Yep! and like I said, I'm perfectly fine with them doing this and shipping their chips my way aha, but when I first started out, if I had a big win I found myself getting lost in the moment and I would think "Yeh I'll call, lets see how we go" with such a mediocre hand. I think until you can learn to think clearly during this "high", you should be leaving the table before it goes tits up.

I sit there until I am no longer playing my A game, I find after more than 3 hours I will start moving away from the A game.

That's how I am when I play. I'll be playing great with the stack I bought in for then I'll start loosing up my range when I get up in stack then that's when I know I need to get up from the table before I lose it all.

Just play until you can play your best game, or keep playing if you think you still have an edge on the other players with the game you're playing now. If there are fish at the table, it is useless to stop after you win streak ended. Even if you are pretty unlucky, you should be able to make profit against fish.

Usually if I am triple what I sat down with, I will get up and cash out. If I still want to play, then I go find another table and sit down with my original buy-in and try to do it again. For me, this is a good way to manage my bankroll, and generally I see it slowly increase.

I have played 10/20 cash games for the past 6 years. The way i play is if i am on a big winning streak and it comes to and end ill keep playing, if i am starting to go down simply from getting loose, i will get up and leave immediately, If its due simply to just getting a run of bad cards, I will stick around for another hour playing supper tight. If the cards have not gotten better within the hour, I will leave. Hope this helps

For me it's easy. I have plenty of stuff (too much sometimes) going on in my life offline that it's all I can do to squeeze and hour or two of poker in when I get a chance. So I guess I'm time based.

I'll stand after one double up and a half. If I leak 30% with a cold deck after the double up then I just stand and walk with my profits. Shake the dust off doing something else. I always try to keep myself maxing out at 2 hours and then I'll chill. I'm not recommending you just 2 hours but whatever you can deal with. Don't push yourself where you start freaking out. Just stand up when you're not comfortable anymore.
