Can you ever put villain on trips?

In low limit games where everyone is willing to stack off with TPTK, can you ever put them on a set? And in what circumstances?

Two hands to illustrate my point. Second one I got very lucky

On dry flops in ring games, I can put players on sets/weird two pair. But in tournaments where you're not nearly as deep I just get it in.

I think one one to put a person on trips or 2 pair is to watch how they play their AK/AQ. I see alot of people preflop raise big with AK/AQ...if they hit it...then they raise more...if they don't...they limp. Watch the board after the flop. If there's no A/K/Q up...then they might have trips or 2 pair then. I think its one reason why Chris Ferguson suggests raising a pair the same as you would a flush..it gives your opponents the least amount of information on the value of your hand.

Hitting Trips is why we play themid and low pocket pairs , its really dificult to spot and the potential payback is enormous

In the first example were you hit your 77 then assuming 600 is around what you would have bet if you were just representing a hand (i.e. not outside your normal betting patterns) then your post flop play was spot on. The villain raising all in with just overs is the kind of guy we really want at our table

In the second example there is an argument for caution as three went with you to the flop and there was a good chance someone hit hard .

At the point you made your reraise you were against one opponent who had the kind of chipstack where they could well have been making a move with a draw top pair and a flushdraw rather than a made hand.

Personally with 3 spades on the flop I would have laid it down because of with 3 opponents there are too many ways you could be drawing thin to a made flush (or straight) or be against an opponent with combined straight/flush draws however if your opponent had been showing alot of aggression its not the worst play Ive seen (i.e. not in the league of the losing villian in the first hand)

I had similar situation the other night where i had KK under the gun and my raise was called by the button.
When the board came ragged i bet and called a raise, on the turn i pushed and he turns over a set of 4s on the turn.
By the river i made my own set and loved the barrage from him telling me WTF you think i insta-called ur raise ??
I just laughed and asked him for more advise later on ... how was i supposed to put him on a set ? Especially when he calls my PF raise ...
