can u figure out "his" cards preflop?

Simple and to the point, can anyone figure out a persons cards preflop, and if so, how? I mean really how, because I can't, I can figure out, where I stand in a hand, preflop, but can't exactly put a person on a specific hand preflop. (eg) If you hold qq preflop, and a very tight player were to raise, on your raise, do u fold, call, what do u put him/her on, do u automatically assume they have kings, or ace's, and if the flop comes rags, how do u proceed, if the flop comes nice for u?
Any tips one can give would be greatly appreciated .

I would see the flop, if the flop did come rags I would check to him see what he does. If you are convinced he has aces or kings lay it down but myself I would see take it to the river most likely.

read

its really all read dependent.
i mean how tight is this player.
like 1 hand out of 15 or 1 out of 30

the more you know about a player the better.
also you shouldn't try to put them on "one" hand.
try to figure more of a range of hands that your opponent could be holding

Figuring out a player's holdings with what little information you have preflop is virtually impossible.

The only exception I can think of is: someone opens preflop on a 9- or 10-handed table, you re-raise him, he re-reraises. You can be fairly sure you're up against Kings or Aces here.

But generally you'll need a flop before you can gain more insight into your opponent's holdings. And even then you'll always have to put him on a range of hands, not on a specific hand.

I go the flop. If an ace or king is on the flop, im very worried. If not, I'm still very certain i have the best hand. In that situation, if your lowstack, you have to play a good flop for you, mid, (ex. an all in on flop)... Follow your gut, they could have JJ or 10 10 JUST as easily.

In your example, it really depends on the size of your bet, ring or MTT(what stage).
Please be more specific.
My example is as follows:
Ring game. .25/.50
me: QQ bets $2
Villian: raises $4 to $6
me: calls $4 (just to see a flop as AA/KK have you beat)

I believe this is a standard for most here as a strong reraise from a TAG at this level and higher indicates a strong PP.
At the lower levels, players play alot of med-strong PP this way and some may even play AK this way.
There are other members that play at more advanced levels that may be of more help but without knowing the levels you frequent makes this question kind of hard to answer completly.

Obviously no one can narrow a person's holding to one hand especially preflop. If someone could do that, don't you think they would clearly be millionaires by now. The only thing to do is assign ranges and play accordingly.
