More often than not - fold

Its quite simple really, if you play it there are just too many situations you could find your self in where you have no idea if you are winning or not.

Would you just limp in, later positions then could raise and you wouldnt know if they are stronger or not.

If a A lands on the flop is yours any good or could you be out kicked.

There are many times you could fold and end up saying 'if only' but it is better to save some chips for later when you have a better hand rather then putting them on the line with an uncertain future

In general - fold

Ace rag early, I used to try to limp in with it....cost me a lot to finally learn the wisdom of folding it lmao!! I generally won't even play it middle to late position. I may not be winning more, but I'm definately losing less!

depends what x =

assuming you mean A-rag suited.. often worth a raise shorthanded (don't open-limp). for example if i have A6s UTG+1 at 6max i'm raising it as my default play. almost always dump it in EP at full ring

fold this all day. Even though its soooooted, i think you only have something like a 4% chance to hit a flush with soooted cards. (Im not sure on that though) So you have to see past the suits and realise it is just ace rag

2 biggest holes in new players game, playing any 2 suited cards and playing Ace-X.

Late position with a few limpers in front might be worth a call with ace-x suited, early position, fold fold fold fold and fold again.

It'a about the table!

You have super aggressive players and it's an easy fold in early position. Get a tight shorthanded table and there is potential to make a few chips. The issue as others have mentioned is that the real nut flop is on the flush. A rag gets out kicked so often that you have to be a disiplined folder to play it at all. If you can't fold aces when your reraised and told your beat postflop don't play it at all. I personally like playing it once and awhile after I've established my table image as extremely tight. But rarely in early position.

I used to play Ax suited all the time, but in the last month or so, after reading this site and other articles, fold it almost all the time. Except at a SNg today.
Limped in with Ad7d - button min raises - I call - flop comes 4-6-5 rainbow - check - check - turn is a 3 - I bet the pot - button calls - river is 8 -
I bet pot - button goes all in - I call - button has 7s-9s for a higher straight !!
Now, if I had of folded my A-rag -

Ace rag

Will most always get you into trouble, I fold it quite abit. Suited, I like to see flops with the hand but will not call a extremely high preflop bet.

Definite fold here till you understand the dynamics of the table. Why call with a good possibility of folding on the flop? Only bleeding off your chips and will get you short stacked all but to quickly.
