| Calculating odds in Stud and Stud8 do calculations of odds work the same in stud as they do in hold em? for instance, should I be practising this:J) for example: stud hi (disregarding suits for now) I have (JJ)6457, i see villain has XXKAA2, and have a read that he has aces and kings, aces out in other hands, my Jacks weren't out in another's hand, so I have 2 + however outs there were for the straight draw, so do I count my outs, and how many cards I've seen revealed in other hands and my own hand, then figure the odds of winning + opportunity of winning additional chips if i do improve, and call or fold depending on that? |

| nevermind, im playing stud8 now, and see calculating odds regularly like that would be impossible unless you are 7 of 9/ Borg. I see you make your calls based on the size of the pot and how live you are. For instance I just made a mistake with KK on 6th street with a gutshot straight draw, that was hardly live against someone showing what looked like a low. The pot was small and the big bet committment on 6th/7th just wasnt worth it to find out if what would likely be a single pair of kings would win half the pot or not. turns out he had 555 and im learning. |
