| c betting and semi bluffing in the micros?2nl profitable? Ive started playing the lowest micro stakes cash games again since i went on a downswing, previously heads up sngs, and im wondering if c bets and semi bluff raises with flush draws are profitable. Im guessing most of the ppl are calling stationy so wont work often it really is hit or miss so far. is it best just to play fush draws in pos and bet for value when you hit your hands. Raising & re-raising with Nut-flush draws can be very expensive @ 2nl as one of the things that makes this move so profitable is the combination of fold equity and pot equity but when you are against a calling station who will call down if they hit any part of the flop this loses alot of EV as 2 out of 3 times you will miss by the River and you won't be able to bluff to take it down. If you do flop a nut flush draw go ahead and make value bets (1/2 PSB) for the times you hit but when you get to the River and miss it might be best to c/f unless you have a pair, any pair. Then I would make a small 1/4-1/3 PSB, who knows maybe they were drawing too and will fold or maybe they have bottom pair. If you are against a nit who will not risk their stack without the nuts then go ahead and fire away because they'll likely fold anything but an overpair or set and if they decide to get it all in, if you can be the one calling the remainder of effective stacks off then your equity of 36% in the pot vs the odds to call make it +EV. |

| re: c betting and semi bluffing in the micros?2nl profitable? poker it all comes down to who you are playing against and what his numbers say. if he is willing to fold to a c-bet often enough i will c-bet even with air. if he folds to c-bets only like 10% i would not c-bet a flush draw. so i guess it all depends on opponent, position, stacks, history and his numbers. and just like almost always in poker, there is no best way to do it as a general rule, it all depends on a lot of factors. |
