Blind defence 3bet sizing?

Hello people,

I just wanted to start some discussion or get some thoughts on bet sizing when you decide to defend against a steal when you are in the blilnds.

At 10NL I see steals from the CO, but especially from the button can very is size by quite a bit, Generally ranging from a mere min-raise to a full 40c bet. Because of the dead money already posted by the blinds, I feel that our standard OOP 4X 3bet can give us different pot odds and we may need to win the pot from just 59.25% of times to 69.5% of times before we can make this bet by itself atleast break even.

Would it be anvantageous to vary our blind defence 3bet size or to keep the bet size the same and alter or blind defence ranges to different sized blind steal bets?

You Make my head hurt.I personally do not change resteal bet sizes according to my hand,but as i found out last night i'm not doing so well with bluff resteals so idk.My standerd value 3bet\bluff 3bet is 3xraise+1bb.

One or the other because i just reread your post 3times an my response makes perfect sense to me.

I think I understand the question. The variable is not our hand but the size of the LP steal/bet.

I don't play cash games but I think you would have to look at the frequency villain is betting from these positions, as well as have an idea of their general bet sizing tendencies.

In my experience it is best to be aware of the 2 different lines of play you have posited, and use your observations and best judgment in each situation.

Flaky, I know -- probably why I don't do well in cash games. I've enjoyed thinking about this though!!

My standard OOP 3bet size is 4x the open. I am less inclined to 3bet junk against smaller opens. I have no idea what else you could be asking that JoeBob's response didn't cover. He raises 3x the open + 1 bb (small for being OOP imo but w/e)/

How does JOE's advice not correlate to your question?
