Bit of help with a common situation please!!

Right i've noticed that lots of the buy-in's i lose are coming from this type of situation, so i'd just like you guys to tell me if im playing it okay, if theres something major im doing wrong, or if im just being a complete noob who wont fold.
Before i start i will tell you i play 2 and 5 NL, full ring at full tilt.

So the typical thing is i have a pocket pair like 9's 10's or jacks kinda thing, and i'll usually raise it 3 or 4 bb's.

I get a caller and the flop comes 3 under cards. I now make a pot sized continuation bet and villain calls.

turn is again not looking dangerous for my hand, so i bet again maybe three quarters of the pot, villain calls sometimes and on river my next bet will be all in, or villain reraises me all in and i feel i have to call.

Villain turns over a higher pocket pair like Queens and wins. I dont know if im just being too greedy but how should i play hands like this, and should i fold as soon as im reraised? Any advice will be appreciated thanks a lot

There's no easy answer to this. At least, not from me. You're right, this is a common situation. It's why middle PPs are so tough. I mostly want a set or some sort of major improvement.

I worry. But am likely to do pretty much what you did on the flop. I bet the flop and expect something. The call gives me the least info. What does he have??? Is he tight? Loose? Could he have connected with the board, which is lower than me? Does he have overcards? A draw? Or is he also hanging with a pocket pair -- and one that might be higher than mine. He probably does not have AA or KK or a set, although he could be just letting me do the betting and waiting to spring his trap. That happens. Or I could have the best hand. I just don't know. So I either bite the bullet and bet hard, knowing and accepting I could get busted, or slow way down and see what he does, see if he gives me a hint. I am ready to fold in most cases if he bets out strong to a check. (Or so I like to believe. People who play with me don't believe that. )

99 is a nice hand but not one risking your stack for. The goal of any pocket pair below QQ is to flop a set or try and check it down for showdown value. If your c-bet does not shake off your opponent and you can't put them on a draw (2 of a suit or a strong straight possibilty) then I would check the turn. If they bet you might call if you think they like to float but if your hand does not improve on the River you'd be better to check/ fold then risk losing your stack with a single pair. You are way behind to too many hands to fire 3 barrells, a set, two pair, TT,JJ, QQ,KK,AA.

not too much you can do.. some players are very aggressive with their hands and slightly over play them some players slightly under play them... i would be on the conservative side.. I would either set-mine with that hand or bet preflop and look to take it down on the flop and back off if i cant win on the flop....the good news is im not losing a big pot unless i end up set vs over set... the bad news is a lot of medium size pots u take down.. i would prob get bluffed out of... (which im fine with) point is you have to take the good with the bad when your trying to figure out ur playing style... if your going to over play ur hand and be willing to go all in with an over pair... you going to lose your fair share of big pots too....hopefully u end up winning more than you lose but most of your wins are going to be on your c bet.... not too many hands people would play to the show down all in that dont beat an over pair of 99

What did he call with? If the flop did not help him, will he call your continuation bet with just overcards or will he require a big pair? Plus too many other factors to list. If this happens often you may have to limp a few times and see if you get raised and evaluate your middle pair at that time.
