Big Tourney Tomorrow for me...

Money wise its an ok tournament. But it is mostly bragging rights. I just want some thoughts. Most of these players are not very skilled so unless I get hit by a bad beat or bad read I should do well.

Just for those who are curious about pay structure and such:

EVERYONE who enters wins something, even the first person out. This is the payout structure (all amounts are paid in real US currency):

1st: $1805
2nd: $805
3rd: $505
4-6: $305
7-10: $155
11-24: $105
25-99: $65
100-199: $55
200-299: $45
300-499: $30
500-1000: $20
1001-2000: $5.50 (tournament token for another tourney)

Also there are bonuses for whoever knocks certain players out ($200 each).

Well I just want some tips is why I put this out here. I have won a few tournaments but haven't played with any of these people...

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker is the poker site the pro's play at. US players are welcome - use code CARDSCHAT to get a $600 bonus.

Its an online tournament.

Its for members of 2 websites to see who has the better poker players.

Bragging rights for the Website but about $40,000 in prizes

Sounds like fun, wish I could get in on that. To forums competing against each other. I like that.

Thanx all. I'd have given you the forum name and info but it was already full by the time I posted here. Sorry.

Thx for the luck though. Gonna need it. Dead money scares me when they are in big numbers

A different poker forum? God you're lucky you know who is no longer a mod!

If I was you i'd try and remember back to how you played in the US v RofW challenge and play the opposite! Joking apart there is a great MTT guide here http://www.cardschat.com/mtt-guide.php , and if you think there are a lot of fish, take it easy early going and let them bad beat other players or knock themselves out.

We were challenged by a Rival forum just before Christmas. The post was deleted within half an hour...

re: Big Tourney Tomorrow for me...

No not poker forums. Just a 'guy' forum vs another 'guy' forum.

I think this was the worst online poker experience of my life. Before the tournament we all logged on to check it out. Well it pretty much was 1500 ish people all talking in chat so I got no questions answered. Time for the tournament came and went and I still was not seated. I had to find my own seat. So of course I started 30 chips down (1500 to start).

The blinds went by at 8 min intervals (quick for my taste) and the blinds really went up. 10/20 15/30 25/50 100/200 etc. I was pretty happy with my play but of course I got Bad beat the whole way. I was in top 100 for a bit until I got really bad luck.

KK raise to 300 (have to blinds go up so fast it was all I could do). Of course 1 guy calls while another one raises it all in. I call cause I know he did not have aces. He had pocket Queens. Great for me. He hit a 3rd queen on the flop. So I lost most of my chips. I am at about 340 when at small blind so I go all in with KJ suited. I get 2 callers. I hit K on the flop and a jack on the river. But I lose to 97 suited with a flush.

Oh well. Got to try again Friday I think.

149th this time.

My biggest problem was my cat. She jumped in my way and I was ready to raise the blind (min) and I clicked Bet right after someone else went all in.

Lost half my stack. Then went all in (A7 Suited) with not much left (1200+ 3 Blinds) and got beat by pocket kings (of course!). lol

But 149th is better then 1467th

EDIT: Also with the crappy week I have had its actually surprisingly good.

re: Big Tourney Tomorrow for me...

3-X think you done a great job and if you had a good time that's all that matters. You where a long way from 1467 so that shows you had pretty good poker skills to last that long. Think it depends on the cards you get or don't get to play. Don't think the cat helped you out any!! LOL
