Best way to improve
As a beginner what would you recommend to improve one's game, pokerbooks, trial and error or an on-line trainingprogram(cardrunners for example) ?

The best advice I can give is to read, play, evaluate, and discuss. Constantly. You are taking a very good step by participating in a forum. I would suggest that you start collecting 2+2 books and read and reread them. Highlight them and study them. But as an earlier poster said, nothing tops table time.
All the best players have taken this path. Regardless of what they say. |

there are endless amount of poker books out there that can improve your game... dan harringtons got a few great books.. doyle brunson.. negreanu.. i mean from books you can learn a lot of the basics and strategies.. you can also hop on to full tilt and watch the pros play and learn from that and watch some high stakes poker or poker after dark.. but to hone your game and seriously get good at it.. you'll need to play yourself and come to the situations where you really have to make a choice... books and tv only get you so far.. you really need to play the game to learn it to some extent..

, but nonetheless, much better than in the beginning. IMO, freerolls are a great way to hone your skills when you are just starting out. |

Of course freeroll player will take more risk thats what i hate about freeroll tournaments the player inside will go all in from the start until like maybe 1000 players are gone then thats when the real player end up but it good that those players go all in if you are good you can plot a good time to trap them and then get easy chips from them. I love getting flushes and slow playing them until those noobs go all in it happen very frequently to me.
