| Best strategy for a newbie against 3bets? So I've got my bankroll from $80 in $4NL 6m up to a little over $200 this month and have been playing $10NL 6m for the past week. My style looks like this over 4k hands: VPIP: 25 PFR: 17.7 3bet%: 7.8 WTSD%: 28 W$SD%: 45 So far I'm up $10 this week, but I feel like I could be doing a LOT better. I was dinking around with HEM2 and put "Faced preflop 3bet = true" in and got a whopping -$55. I'm assuming this means that I suck at hand reading and I wouldn't argue against that point. I've won 16 hands against PF 3bet for +$47 and lost 51 hands for -$102. I was wondering if there is any advice to be had out there about what to do when going up against PF 3bets at the $10NL 6max tables. From this it seems like I'd be better off just autofolding any time I'm 3bet against, but this doesn't seem like a long-term solution and I want to get better. I've got a lot more personalized data on my vs3bet stats, but I figure I'll just keep this as a general question first P.S. I've also been told that I could be just unlucky to be losing against 3bets so much seeing as I'm in the red even with my premium hands against them. |

If they 3betting a lot but you don't think they are a complete maniac, you can 4bet them occasionally as a bluff, or call their 3bet with a wider range when in position. If they only 3bet 1-2% of the time then fold everything but KK and AA when they 3bet. Most importantly, don't call 3-bets out of position...4-bet or fold instead |
