Beginner Hope

When I fisrt saw poker online I thought 'yea thats great I can waste any of them' thinking I was a pro because I have played poker for years for money and that it was a game of luck.
But I have been saddly mistaken, hence the reason why i have started this thread. To warn all the old skool players (My Loving Partner) that it's not the same you need to update your skills. I not saying to discard what you know but to update and add.
The best way I have found to achieve this is to join these forums, soak up all the information you can and put it in to practise, and practise. Using the play money options at the poker sites you play on are good for practise or even setting up games with players from your forum or community you are involved are even better because they have their own strategies which you can pick up on.
I hope this helps those out thier who are still stuck on the old ways.

Nice reply

Your right on that having to to adjust and all but lots of people have the idea that a AK KQ QJ's are good to go all in on but that it just not the go because you will lose 80% of the time if you study the cards what coming out and how many people call your all in then you can calculate your odds.

re: Beginner Hope poker

real money and play money people play differently but what I am saying is that on the play money you can teach yourself how to count the odds.

Play money

Play money games is excellent way for a newbie to get their feet wet.Yes you're going to see a more wild game but you'll be able to start developing strategies while not having actual money at stake.Always keep in the back of your mind when you feel you're ready for money start small
