Bankroll Management Its quite easy to find information about BR management for NL, but what is a good BR management plan for full limit holdem? What should my buy in to a table be? What should I base my comfortable stakes on? Should my bankroll be measured in buy ins, big blinds, or big bets? What should a comfortable # of BIs, Big Blinds, or Big bets be? (Ex. 100 big bets, 50 buy ins, etc.) I've had a difficult time finding this information. I would appreciate some help.

I don't play much fixed limit and was interested in the answer too. Here is a chart I found for fixed limit bankroll management : fixed limit bankroll management.JPG (http://www.cardschat.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=26178&d=1266083027) A reasonable answer appears to be 300 big blinds. -Raymond

He says that when u play at cash tables u have to play maximum 5% of your bankroll if u play at one table. And u have to chose the tables where with this 5% u have at least 100 big blinds. If u play at multiple tables u play 2% at each of them. If u play at sg tournaments u chose a buy-in of 2% of your bankroll. When u win u move up one step to bigger blinds respecting this strategy... if u lose .. u move one step down. So if u play at one table and u have 100 dollars bankroll u play 5 dollars at 2-4 cents tables. Anyway in time u can make your own strategy that fits u and bring u a constant amount of money every mounth. |

re: Bankroll Management poker I like 300 bb as well for limit br. I usually will sit down with 50 bb or so, so it really wouldn't hurt to have more. Another thing imdo is that if someone is just starting out then they are probably better off starting at much lower limits irrespective of how large their br is. Why waste dollars learning the game when you can waste cents instead?

Take a Risk I agree with everyone's post, but if you are starting with $50 or $100 and you apply this strategy you might not make it out of 2cent/5cent. If you know how to play the game and could protect your money take a risk!!! Buy in for $15 or $25 at a 5cent/10cent or 10cent/25cent table. This way you have a shot at making some money. If you have a decent bankroll of $300-$400 then the true BR strategy would be ideal. Obviously I would not recommend this to the true novice player, but if you know the game TAKE A RISK it might be worth it
