| re: bankroll poker hi thanks for the reply, my goals are to make living eventually, i first won $25 in a freeroll at paradice poker, played 1-2c nlhe then went to 5-10c, got up to $200 over about 6 mounths, then went on downswing and basically tilted it away. At the time i hadnt really heard of variance, then i had a email from blue square saying would i like to play in there 10c give away sit and goes which are nl, i built up to $6.50 then bought in to the 1-2c cash games till i to $240, ive had a couple of downswings along the way, but the last one has lasted a couple of months and im now down to $210 but im determined not to tilt it away this time, im a tightish player and feel limit may be better for me in cash games anyway. sorry for long reply and i appreciate your help. thanks dandydesmond |

| Good luck in your venture Dandy. If I could lend advice I'd tell you to try limit but don't expect it to be easier or less 'tilt proof'. You have to find the style/type of poker that you enjoy the most. I started and built everything on limit play NL at times. I still drift back to my roots and comfort zone of limit though. You'll just have to find the flavor you enjoy better--many people live on one side of the fence or the other. IMO, I still think there are a few more fish in NL (due to them watching the TV style of play?) but there are bigger sharks that live there too. Either way, varience will make you high as a kite, and then make you question everything you know. Keep learning, playing the game, and follow strict bankroll management as best as you can and then the money will follow. |
