Bad Poker Players Hello, Every weekend my brother and his friends get together and play poker. It is a $5 buy in winner take all. It just seems that no matter how much money is on the line some people just play any 2 cards. I play the player you know I look at betting patterns, how fast the bet is made, how was the bet placed and so forth. Example I have AK offsuit and raise 4 times the big blind in the first postion at full table Flop: 7 10 7 I play very agressive and moved all in and got called. He had 7 8 offsuit. I do not see the point in raising against these opponenets. Help

I agree with grumble with all the new players out there it makes it really hard to bluff. I have quit as much bluffing as i used too just for that reason. Sort of took on a new strategy lately if i have the hand play it pretty aggressive if i dont i get out. Been burned to many times where I bet on mediocre hands like i had them and some inexperienced player calls and gets his card and im out

re: Bad Poker Players Here are some of the types of players online and all around........Morons, Retards, Dreamers, Chasers, Speeders, Conservative, Ragtastic.......Most of the players online are ****ing retarded morons who catch dream cards, chase insiders/flushes, bet all in at a 50 dollar pot and speed with ace rag and suckout, the ones who fold if they dont see two paint or any high pocket pair which is myself and the idiots that raise with 96 offsuit and crack pocket kings/aces........If you are any of the above mentioned that are not conservative, go **** yourself, throw out your computer, and forget everything you have ever learned about poker. Most of these players are the ones who watched the WPT last night and thought they were a pro overnight. Im just sick of shit heads who think they know everything in 1 day, when I have been playing for 12 years and still have so much to learn.

It's an interesting thought that the influx of newbie poker players has actually made winning harder than before the popularity of the WPT and WSOP. For a seasoned poker player you just have to recognize who you are playing against and adjust your strategy accordingly. Quality play over time will beat luck.

Its an unfortunate reality that they want to hang around its even worse online. But you are on the right track by studing their style. After the flop you would be better of to check to them to see if they hit their number. with an AK if you don't hit on the flop and you know you have players at the table willing to sit in with anything then you need to proceed with the same caution you would with a low pair (22 33 44).

I know it's not the miracle advice you're looking for--but my advice is to stop playing with them. Loose players are their own breed and if you want to enjoy the game with them, then you need to get drunk and say "i don't care" and match their style. You just can't approach it any other way. If people will play any two cards and you play tight, then over time they will probably lose, but that still doesn't mean you'll have fun playing.

Jag....you were out of position man. Betting all in on a board like that out of position (OOP) is a mistake. You want to control the betting, so a 1/2 pot bet there would have been better, or 1/4 pot, or simply check. Letting AK go when it doesn't hit the flop is likely a good play there simply because he could have hit his set of 10's which is an even more likely hand to call a raise with pre-flop.

Bad players=Bad beats Only play the good hands, don't reach, and when you know you have the hand won, push it hard. They'll prob call you with 2nd pair. And if an ace flops and u can't beat aces,FOLD. These players love aces, they'll call 5 times the blinds with A4o

re: Bad Poker Players Patience is the key to playing these players. Take time to watch the table before you sit in at the table. play only good starting hands and be willing to fold them if you miss the flop. you will crack these players in time. Remember luck runs out skill doesn't.

| Ive seen EVERYTHING playing @ UB u can have bullets and push all in there will be somebody calling ya. With no value to the FAKE CHIPS people have nothing to loose and @ UB the site gives u 1000 chips once ur bankrupt anyway so there no incentive to keep them in ur stack when its low, Poker Stars have 3 rebuys an hour for fake chips (I THINK) that helps a little but there are still the people that JUST DONT CARE it seems. My suggestion is get the CREDIT CARD out put in 25 bucks and try the real money games players value THEIR chips because they actually have VALUE and whats 25 bucks. you will waste $25 somewhere else and not have near as much fun doing it. | When I play against bad players (or loose players) I usually never over play my cards before I see the river and know I have the nuts, cause usually they are bluffing their way to the river and since they are commited to the pot once the river shows, they will call, no matter what the bet is. And if I want to call to a pot without getting all in, but am not sure I have the highest hand, I only bet when I am alone with a bad player, so even if he wins, I will get my money back from him sometime in the game. But usually, you have to be very tight and passive against loose or bad players. tigilles |

just play with the best hands and be conservative online. i have never won an online tourney without a fold percentage of around 70% or higher. just play like howard lederer and wait for the paint then bust the amatuers. its pretty straightforward when you pay attention to the winning hands and the betting patterns.

lol I admit I hate hope and wish betters just like anybody else. They hope and wish to catch a flush or a straight. My other 2 terms are "run forest run".. "chase those cards", and "I have some bait for the fisherman". I see you like "fishing for cards". Those so called wish and hope betters hate when I say those things to them.

yeah weak players are calling stations and will pay about any amount of money to see a flop and to see a winning hand. Trying to bluff them is pointless imo. Just because they like to see cards and play the action. but its good because they also like paying you off in the end.

I think, "Last Bullet", needs to take a vacation and lightin' up a bit. It's a game and everyone plays their way, no matter how pissed you get. It's your job to figure out how to beat 'em. There are a lot of new players and many are just feeling there way around and winning a few hands while doing it. If someone is playing rags, all the time, it has to catch up with them sooner or later. Calm down

re: Bad Poker Players If they are so loose that they will call any all-in with top pair, you just keep limping in until you flop a hand that beats top pair, and hope to run into top pair. If you can do that once, (and the more flops you see, the better your chances of doing that,) you will bust them. Raise with strong hands, limp with medium hands.
