Ax suited flush sniping Here is the theoretical situation: Several limpers in front of you and you have Ax suited in late position - cash game 100bb deep. Do you limp in with them and snipe for the flush? Normally I dump hands like this, so I am wondering if I am missing out on profit. It seems to me a better way to play this is to raise the dead money in the pot and play from there. By limping in and going for the flush you are just left with to many bad decisions you have to make. Even if you are on the draw with the ace over the board it still seems like you are in a bad spot if someone makes a 3/4 pot sized bet. If an ace hits the board and someone bets you have to assume your ace is no good most of the time. So in the long run I have to assume that playing this hand by limping in with the others in not profitable, but I wanted other peoples opinions. I left the situation a little ambiguos, but as we all know, circumstances dictate what is a correct decision in poker. Thought?

re: Ax suited flush sniping poker Early in a tournament I would definitely limp with that to hope to hit big and double up, but in a cash game, not sure. I don't play a lot of cash games, however if I did play it, I probably wouldn't raise with it. I think it's a hit or miss type of hand.

Late position in a cash game I'd usually raise with that. It gives you more options after the flop - you can represent a AQish hand or over pair and take it down later even if you don't hit or if someone else has a weak ace and there is an ace on the flop. Limping, people assume you have a drawing hand so even if you do hit the flush it's hard to get paid off. A lot of it depends on who you're up against though - they have to be bluffable. Some players simply won't fold a good hand no matter how much strength you show. Flushes simply don't hit often enough to make it worth playing if that's the only positive outcome you're shooting for.

this also depends on the blinds are they agressive then i may not play. but w/limpers and odds i would definately call. as far as a flush draw w/an ace over and someone bet 2/3 pot into you i'm reraising. you could have as many as 12 outs which is bacially a coin flip. and fold equity you gain by reraising and also w/the money already in the pot i got to believe its +EV play. as far as the raise goes i like it also but won't do it as much in position. but people can fold easier in a raised pot if you come out betting.

re: Ax suited flush sniping poker Depends on whether your limpers are always limpers. In other words, does it seem like most the table continuously limps to see the flop? If so, double up and see how many drop out. If nothing else, it gives you some insight as to what to do next time you have the same hand at the same table. If they all stayed in, maybe you don;t double up on this hand the next time.
