| the art of theft I run into this one so often, surprised most of you dont know it already.. you get good pockets, make a 4x bet...and someone calls your big bet. but, the flop is something like 7 3 8...or some such. Make a good continuation bet..and dont half step, make it a good one! 95% of the time they will fold.. Except when they have the nuts!! but, the odds are in your favor on this one..i have even made that bet when an ace flops..you would be surprised how often they miss whatever it was they were lookin for. keep in mind though, if they keep calling...dont keep betting unless you hit. in that case, they have a small pair, or have part of the flop...and you dont want to toast yourself. they will keep calling..but wont bet. another cool thing you can do..if you hit, and hit hard...dont go all in, just make smaller continuation bets that makes them think u missed. I use this technique with big pockets too...but be careful, watch for flushes and straights. Last edited by fredel1 : 9th October 2007 at 10:37 PM. Reason: needs additional info |
