Play your cards and reel them in when you hit hard. If your AK, AQ or high cards miss.. and they called you as BB.. it's a race... 2 pairs are pretty common as well if they call with any 2 cards... Use your position well and don't bluff. Make them pay for their draws. When the board looks bad.. becareful. Watch their body language too. Newer players tend to give off tells very fast. I remember once a BB looking dissapointed at his cards but was really excited when the flop came.. giving him 2 pair. Watch for these things.

ok, forget the premium hands, they get drawn out on. If you can get it aipf with AA-QQ do so. Inexperienced players like to see alot of flops for just about any price and they pay off big with top pair, 2 pair and sets (ok we all pay off with sets) so just let those little pots go and try to get involved with decent drawing hands like SC's, small gappers and pairs that can turn into sets. Your implied odds are huge so if your getting 3:1 pot odds or better on a draw then take it. When you make your hands, don't dink around with 1/2 pot bets, go for their stacks. These types of players always overvalue weak hands and almost always assume you're bluffing.

re: Anyone got tips playing against donkeys? poker I liked the whole wait an pounce like a lion saying... The only thing I could think to add is deff NOT try and bluff a donk... it never works, they'll call your reraise every time just to see the next card, and so on....

How to deal with donks.... Every player, amateur or pro, has started of as a donk. They are predictable if you pay attention. Donk will act as if he/she has played the game for a long time, sadly some have played for long time and still haven't learned lol haha. They will chase and try to hold it in when they loose and thats when you can read them and believe me they have a lot of tells. Don't try to bluff them from the getgo, wait till they are frustrated after loosing and then play your game. There is not really a special strategy for you to play against them, just watch them and play accordinly. Good luck my fellow poker players.

All beginners is a donk. They play more often in freerolls and micro stack games. Then the some players raise the level of game and the some remain donk. I think that the question concerns to the last. Against them there are no special rules. It is just necessary to play cautiously and to not bluff.

no one mentioned overbetting. you said they cant be bluffed then dont try . if u pick up a monters try overbetting since they dont like folding anyways it will probably pay u off. like aa preflop raise more that the norm at that game b/c u might get called by a weak ace u have crushed try moving all in on flops u hit hard and suspect ur opponet hit small pairs...

re: Anyone got tips playing against donkeys? poker tone down your c-betting range and completly eliminate outright bluffs. A flop of Q97 may seem a safe c-bet for a nit whos only gunna show up with AQ. Against an utter donk your gunna get a ton of gutshots anything down to Q2 most 9s plenty of 7s and not to mention all pocketpairs. Just C-bet the driest of dry flops and make a half pot bet so you risk less. For value bet pot or overbet. Don't worry about balancing its unlikely they'll notice.

I was just reading this on Killer Poker Online and there was a quote from Negranu.. i spelled that very poorly.. but he said the best way to play against donkeys is just wait until you have a good hand and they will give you the money... if you try to bluff them... there is no point so just play tight and wait to hit your hand... if you are in question if a hand is good... pick a spot where you think you will have a better chance to crack them... it can be frustrating! and sometimes you are going to lose, but this strategy is going to give you the best opportunity to make money

re: Anyone got tips playing against donkeys? poker Yeah, I think it's best to play tight. I play with my friends, and if I play conservative and tight, I will win most of the time. They make such terrible calls sometimes, and it's nearly impossible to bluff them. I had Q3 (since I was big blind), hit a Q on the flop and I raised to just take the pot right there. My friend called with Q2. I don't think he realized that he had the lowest possible kicker, and I have no idea what he was calling me on. He was lucky that we split that pot.

Here's how I like to approach it when I see someone who is obviously bad. Think about what they are doing that is bad and why you personally don't do it. Why is it not profitable for you to just call every single hand? You miss most of the time right? I'd be value betting a lot more thinly against this type of player on the flop/turn. If he's going to call with a gutshot or A-rag all of a sudden when you flop middle pair with a bad kicker it is a very clear value bet. Also say you get to the river somehow and there are draws that missed after he called you. Here I like to bet kinda small if I don't have anything just because he likely doesn't even have a pair and will probably fold the river. As bad as some people are, most of them don't call with the flush draw on the river hoping to catch it on 6th street. Note that I would not bet A high just because you're ahead most of the time. You want to be betting with hands that are behind most of the time if it goes check/check but that the majority of opponent hands are simply high cards.

best is to just go all in on them with a premium hand preflop of course, or if you get the chance, with nut flush draw on the flop (K or A high)... since donkey will often be happy to go all in when on a flush draw, your higher cards will win them whether they get their flush or not (unless they manage to pair one of their cards and you dont)

Only play good whole cards. If you try to fish your playing their game. make them play yours. Play conservative and wait for them to try to bluff you. With my friends they see folded as a weakness and will call a check reraise 99% of the time

re: Anyone got tips playing against donkeys? poker the best weay to deal with aggressive players is to trap. Take flops when u can and when u hit a hand they are so easy to trap. You can also limp with big starting hand if u know someone will raise behind you and get them to gamble with you when u have the best hand.

Well there are many things to consider when versing a donk (You may as well see him as a very loose player/calling machine) Having said that the best way to win against those type of players is by playing tight aggressive. But sometimes when you're familiar with the donks that you play against, you can loosen up and start playing suited connectors. I guess most of your plays/winnings/losses come from post flop action and whether or not the donk is chasing. If they keep calling you're raise or raise themselves, at best, they have two pair/trips rarely a flush or higher. They chase straights often so you might want to look for a higher straight/split pot. Hope his helps. One more tip, FORCE them on how to play :P. Use any means neccessary. Or act alot that usually works
