| you got a HUD vpip around 14/ PFR 11 First 4positons AK,AQ, TT+..u can go 99+ if ur good post flop limps pocket pairs(especially micro stakes) evne min raising MP start raising more PP with no limpers AJs KQ etc CO, Button..you can start isolating with top 20% of hands..stealing the blinds wide as u have position QTs 78s 9Ts. You can play many hands from all positions, it just depends. Just make sure u disregard the junk like A7o etc I hope this helps..if your looking to improve..then i'd recommend moving to 6max asap. FR is good for when ur learning the game, but although i suck at 6max i think it improves u, palying with wider ranges etc. HU would be ideal lol. Also some simple ABC jazz only stack with sets, flushes, straights(deep stacked) look for 2streets of value with TPTK. Fire one continuation bet and give up. Once u start improving..then u can move away from those fundatmentals and be more player specific. This works for the 10nl and below - as players donate to u. So it's about long term patience. Also only stack with AA and KK PF unless ur see some idiot going nuts lol i find FR even a micro stakes..players in general..don't stack off very wide. Final point; almost always come in for a raise PF and never limp. You can occasionally, but generally raise, raise 3x everything.. i even raise 2x with small pp UTG at full ring if the talbe is passive.. | re: Any strategies for 10 handed nl cash games? poker just play tight i run about 9/6 most of the time at 2nl and i am a winning player you can eventually open up a little bit and start raising a few more hands but make sure u pick your spots and raise people who u think are watching u play as tight as my ballsack in january. heres a hand chart that seems a little crazy but it works at micros RAISING FIRST IN UTG: AQs, AK, 77+ MP1: AJ+, 55+ MP2/3: AJ+, KQs, 22+ HJ/CO: AJ+ KQ, QJ, 22+ BTN: A8s+, KQ, KJ, QJ, 22+ like i said once u get warmed up to your table u get get a little looser but try to stay in the ball park of the chart it will help you at the micros ((i didn't make the chart i got it from another article i read)) if your not playing the micros dont mind this post |

| What levels are you talking about. At micro-stakes and even into the range of 50 NL and 100NL, you can be profitable playing very few hands, and basically just waiting until people give you money. This isn't optimally profitable and it's rather boring, but it's lower variance than playing a more active style. Plus it's not much of a way to learn how to play higher which you need to do because you'll face more players capable of exploiting nits. |

| Agree with everything posted so far. I'll add a bit... play small pairs and suited aces often and as cheaply as possible. Bet very aggressively when you hit a set or flush. At the lowe limits, you're going to have to trust me that you will get paid off... don't be afraid to move in when you hit. |

| re: Any strategies for 10 handed nl cash games? poker I Agree with everything said. I don't know what blinds you will be playing in but i have found in the low stakes that when you get a good hand like AA KK etc... It is almost best to raise in every position. Because of the amount of fish in the you get called or not called. Sometimes you don't wana get called and busted out by some lucky fish. I have made it a rule of mine to raise pre-flop with any strong hand i get in those blinds because of the type of opponents. On the flop you adapt to the situation etc... I would say i never bluff in early position because of the money you can loose is horific doing that. I think late position just of from the button 7th position is a like a blind stealing place you can raise there preflop and and maybe do a continous bet on the flop. With 10 handed it really does depend on the opponents and how tight or aggressive they are and what image you want to give off. Sometimes you could just raise with nothing like Q8 in EP know you might get called or reraised. But this bad play is an investment for good positional play later on. You might just wanna fire one of preflop and on flop if you know your opponents. |
